22 Ways To Make Cash Fast

22 Ways To Make Cash Fast

Sometimes quick cash needs to be just that – quick! When an unexpected event hits our wallets (and we didn’t build an emergency fund beforehand!), it can be hard to not just sit and wallow.

As a parent, though, sulking simply isn’t an option. So when random events call for more money than we have on hand, it’s on us to get creative to solve the budget problems.

While getting a second job is a possible solution, most people don’t want to have huge amounts of their time at the disposal of another job after their first. Thankfully the internet provides us with many ways to earn money on the side without having to give up 2/3 of our daily hours.

The turnaround time on some of these varies, but none of them should take longer than two weeks to get you cash in your pocket, though some do have fixed payout schedules. Still, we have avoided including anything where the payout is months in advance; the goal of this article is to provide quality earning potential as quickly as possible in as many ways as possible.

As is typically the case, some of the links below may be affiliate links; this means I’ll earn should you click through to make a purchase or sign up for a service. This is no way impacts my recommendation of said products or services.

22 Ways To Make Cash Quick

Actual jobs

With the advent of constant internet access via our phones, Postmates has gone from a few shops in major cities to being pretty much available anywhere. The company connects a goods-provider like a restaurant with a delivery person – you – and then your job is to get the goods to the customer, for which you’re paid a fee. You can sign up at the link above and download the app to start delivering pretty much anything and get paid for it.

We’ve done a Textbroker review in the past but if writing is a skill you possess they are still the best bet for finding reliable work in a large variety of subjects. They pay out every Thursday (you have to actually manually request a payout) but it will be in your Paypal on Friday. Again, if writing is your thing, few online “jobs” are going to be as reliable as this one.

Amazon’s Mturk program

Always at the forefront of data gathering, Amazon offers a wide variety of at-your-desk jobs that don’t require a lot of skill or effort. Mostly product reviews and information-gathering, Mturk pays you money to poke around in Amazon’s database.

If you’re not writing-inclined but you have another marketable skill like graphic design or marketing, Freelancer has more options that might suit your talents. As a freelancer, you can “bid” on jobs in order to get the opportunity to do them and then of course get paid. They pay bi-weekly, and if you sign up using this link, you’ll earn $20 into your account once you start completing jobs. Check it out!

Another freelancing service, Upwork has a VERY broad range of jobs, from writing to proof-reading to actual voice acting work, so you’re bound to find something that speaks to your passions and talents. In addition, Upwork has some very entry-level jobs that might not pay great but you’re almost guaranteed to get, and you can build up from there to get better and better paying jobs.

Do some mystery shopping

The MSPA (Mystery Shopper Providers Association) is an ever-growing bank of mystery shopping jobs. These typically pay you through reimbursing your cost at the shop and then an additional fee or products. While it’s not as reliable as some of the other work on this list, it’s a nice way to get a free meal and supplement your income in the process.

BestMark is another great mystery shopping site to check out!

banner ad for bestmark mystery shop sign upGigwalk

Gigwalk pays you to scope out an area and take photos, record data, and report it back. Think of it like Google maps, but from a human perspective with human input. The pay isn’t outstanding but you’re effectively getting paid to walk and take photos, which most people do anyway.

Somewhat like Gigwalk, Foap allows you to snap photos from their app on your phone and upload them to their site. When a brand likes your picture and wants to buy it, they pay $10, which Foap splits with you. If you’ve got an eye for photography, a good camera on your phone, and a creative mindset, you can make a lot of money for a few snaps a day.

Since we’re on the topic of photography, don’t forget that Shutterstock is another great way to earn money! Many people turn to Shutterstock for their blogs, advertisements, websites, and more. Even if you’re not a professional photographer, you can still earn money every month submitting photos.

Fiverr is another online job site, with a variety of offerings that will suit your particular talents. While you can set up a variety of offers, many look to Fiverr for things like designing a logo, writing up a blurb for a website, or resume help.

Drive for Uber

Uber has made taxis obsolete in a lot of cities, and it’s little wonder why with their accessibility and real-time reviews, you don’t need to worry about slow, rude taxi service. Driving for Uber can earn you some serious money if you’re good, keep a clean vehicle, and you’re consistently working. The link above will take you directly to their driver application page.

Local labor

Nothing beats the old standby of mowing lawns, bagging leaves, or shoveling snow. No matter the weather, your neighbors probably have work they need done. Offer to do it for them and if you do well, you might find yourself with a steady source of easy money.

Check your local university for paid participation

This is particularly great if you live in a large city with a bustling college campus nearby. Universities are always paying people for certain types of participation. For instance, legal colleges might hold mock juries that will pay you in cash immediately upon the completion of your involvement. Some research colleges will pay you for participation in drug trials, psychological studies, or survey research panels. It’s worth calling to find out!

There are so many great ways to earn quick cash simply by doing something you need to do anyway – clean out the closets and declutter! While the benefits of decluttering are innumerable, making money certainly tops that list.

Start selling on Ebay

Selling on Ebay seems like a given, but many forget it’s an option. Whether you have collector’s items you’re looking to get rid of or simply a bundle of children’s clothing, getting started selling on Ebay is easier than it seems!

Sell gold or silver

Those pawn shops and “We Buy Gold” places are going to give you less than your jewelry/silverware/whatever is worth because they can. Instead, take your pieces to a coin dealer or a reputable pawn shop. It also helps to weigh your gold in advance. Those pop-up “we buy gold” places will try different tactics to give you less than your gold is worth, so be careful. Finally, go to a few different places with your gold or silver to get the best price among them; never just sell to the first place you go.

earn cash quick

Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist

This is a no-brainer, but often overlooked. Sure, you can get some great sales at a flea market or by hosting a successful garage sale, but if you’re really in a hurry, Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist are still your best bet for efficient turnover on your items. What’s faster than finding a buyer, meeting, and exchanging goods for cash? Just be safe about it and meet in a populated, well-lit area.

Sell your electronics to Gazelle

Gazelle is a service that lets you send in your old phone and other devices for quick cash. Follow the banner ad below to get a fast quote on your device. Additionally, you can drop it off a their Gazelle kiosks, located throughout the country (typically in Walmarts). They even offer free shipping on any transaction over $1. If you’ve recently upgraded devices and/or have an old one sitting around, why not make some cash off it?

Sell your old stuff to a pawn shop

This is probably one of the oldest methods to getting quick cash but there’s a good reason pawn shops are a centuries-old business; they work. If you have quality items in good shape, pawn shops are your best bet.

Sell old instruments

There is a robust market for old instruments, particularly violins and brass like trumpets and tubas. Nobody wants to pay full price for a new one. If you’ve got an old one lying around, you can make some quick money on Craiglist or the Facebook Marketplace. If you want to sell more quickly, skip the pawn shop and head to a music store. They’re far more likely to offer you a real amount rather than try and pull one over on you.

Try a consignment shop for clothes

One of my favorite ways to save money on kids clothes is by buying used and re-selling later. While it’s not a guarantee, these shops will give you likely the best price you’ll get for clothes.

No time to get out and about? Check out sites like Swap and ThredUP!

You’re online anyway, why not make some money? There are many ways to make money online, but here are some of the ones that’ll pay quick.

Ever downloaded an app or went to a site and thought “this is an awful site”? How would you like to be PAID to express those thoughts? That’s where UserTesting comes in! This site allows you to view a website, and use your device’s microphone to capture your review. You’ll get paid a minimum of $10 per accepted review, so it’s not chump change either.

Though it can be a grind, InboxDollars is a great way to earn money with surveys. You can also earn by playing games, using their search engine, and referring friends. They also have a variety of contests you can win, which is always fun.

Not sure where to start? Check out my guide on how to earn with InboxDollars!

Earn some quick cash when you need it most

Naturally some of these methods will reap far more immediate rewards – like pawning gold – but the drawback is more substantial. Earning some side money will never hurt and will help create a buffer in circumstances where you need it fast. Even if you’re not in dire need at this moment, give some of these a try today.

What Happened to Ebates?

What Happened to Ebates?

If you have an Ebates account, you may have noticed something new in the banner area –

Ebates is now Rakuten

Ebates Is Becoming Rakuten banner

Why Did Ebates Change its Name?

According to the Ebates/Rakuten website, “taking the Rakuten name most accurately reflects who we are today: a company that gives you all the Cash Back you’re used to, with even more opportunities to save.”

Frankly, I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner!

Disclosure: This post contain a referral link, which means I’ll be receive a monetary bonus should you choose to sign up. For more information on my policies and disclosures, visit this page.

What is Rakuten?

Rakuten is a Japanese marketing company that acquired Ebates in 2014, but it wasn’t until the 2019 Superbowl that they began to really publicize the merge.

I’ve actually been a part of Rakuten for nearly as long, as it’s one of the ways I make money with affiliate marketing.

Rakuten itself was originally Buy.com (founded in 1997) but they were then bought out by the Japanese company in 2010 as an attempt to enter the American market. They actually became a very close competitor with Amazon before the buy out!

Not only that, but if you were someone who made money selling on Ebay around 2008, you may very well remember Buy.com. They formed a partnership with Ebay and quickly became their top seller, but were not charged listing fees – something that angered a lot of independent sellers.

Maybe this is my nerdy side coming out, but I find the growth of this company to be fascinating (all the more with their Ebates merge, too!)

How do You Pronounce Rakuten?

It’s certainly not as easy to say as Ebates, but it’s still just as easy to use!

Is Rakuten legit?

Rakuten is truly such a great way to make money!

If you’re new to Ebates (or Rakuten), it’s a site that allows you to earn cash back if you click through their links before shopping. Even better, they’ve recently added an “in-store” option!

The best part is that you don’t have to do anything special, you just click through and shop like you normally would.

How to Sign Up for Rakuten

First, create an account by clicking HERE! By signing up through this link, you’ll earn an automatic $10 after your first $25+ shopping trip – not bad for 30 seconds of work, yeah?

How Does Rakuten Work?

Rakuten incentivizes shoppers to go through their platform by offering a certain percentage back on their purchase. While this may seem nonsensical on the surface, it’s actually a win-win for everyone.

A customer may not be set on buying anything today, until they see that the shop is offering 8% back through Rakuten today only – a win for the shop as the buyer is now all the more eager to buy.

Then not only does the buyer earn that 8% back, but Rakuten will get a small commission from the shop as well.

Using Gift Cards with Rakuten

If you’re planning to do a lot of shopping, this is my top tip (it’s the best way to save during the holiday season!)

If you know ahead of time that you’ll be shopping at a certain retailer, be on the lookout for discounted gift cards through sites like Raise.com. Even if you don’t do a lot of online shopping, be sure to check out Raise.com – if you know you spend money on a regular basis somewhere (like a certain gas station!), why not buy gift cards for yourself and save even more?

For example, I recently purchased a $50 Kohl’s gift card for $41.90. Then I made a purchase through Rakuten for $53, using mainly that gift card and earning myself a nice $4.24 back. So instead of spending the full $53, I’m actually only looking at a total spent of $37.66.

More Rakuten Tips and Tricks

how to make money with rakuten

First, make sure you’ve got the Rakuten extension downloaded for your browser!

Just check out the bottom of the Rakuten homepage to download. This way you don’t even have to worry about going through the site first when you’re browsing your favorite shopping site – seriously, could it get any easier to make money with this?

Also, if you can behave when using credit cards, another “must do” with Rakuten is to have the Rakuten Cash Back Credit Card.

Just check out the footer on their homepage for more information, but basically it allows you to earn even MORE cash back (typically an additional 3%). So in my above gift card example, if I used my Rakuten card, I could’ve only spent $36.07 on a $53 purchase. LOVE IT!

In-Store Shopping with Rakuten

Something else you can do to make even more money back is to choose to “pick up in-store” while still shopping online. This is especially great if you’re prone to impulse purchases at your favorite store or if you want to save time when running errands. Not only will you earn that cash back you wouldn’t otherwise, but you can run in, pick up your stuff, and get on your way!

Coupon Codes with Rakuten

Another great thing about Rakuten is that you can combine the cash back you’re earning with any coupons available. They even have coupon codes right there for you – no need to hunt down a mailer you got or sift through e-mails. It’s especially easy if you’re using the mobile app or the browser extension.

How to Refer Friends to Rakuten

Finally, you can of course refer your friends to Rakuten. By just referring THREE friends, you can earn $75! How awesome is that?

It Pays to Share Refer a Friend earn $25 at Rakuten

Rakuten Proof of Payment

Just in case you’re still not totally sold on Rakuten, check out just how much money I would have otherwise lost out on last quarter were it not for shopping with this cash back app:

Proof of payment rakuten ebates

So to re-cap:

  • Rakuten membership is free.
  • There’s no limit to how much Cash Back you can earn.
  • There are no rebate forms to mail in or points to count— they just send you your Cash Back, no strings attached.
  • Literally everyone should sign up!

Despite the new name, Rakuten is Ebates and there’s no catch here – so sign up today!

Review Software, Receive Starbucks

Review Software, Receive Starbucks

What if you could review software you use at work every day and receive a $10 Starbucks gift card? A for REAL gift card, not “entered into a drawing” nonsense?

Well, you can! We were contacted by both Capterra and G2, two companies that let the real experts – namely you and I, who actually use products everyday – review various software programs. They use this information to give credible advice on what software to use, and in return, they’ll pay you in an electronic Starbucks gift card.

Make Money Reviewing Software

Capterra Review

January 2019 Update: My original review of Capterra here has been removed as I’ve heard from more and more of you that they tend to shut down your accounts for faulty reasons and give you no chance at an appeal. I reached out to them for clarification and not only did it take them TWO WEEKS to respond (?!!) but they sent a form response that addressed none of the questions I’d sent them.

I personally made $70 from Capterra and had no issues, in fact they offered me $100 to send ya’ll their way, but know this – I will ALWAYS choose honesty over money.

Unfortunately due to their poor customer services skills and the fact that they randomly close legitimate accounts, I cannot and will not recommend them.

[click_to_tweet tweet=”Why one blogger changed her honest review of @Capterra – #software #badbusiness #customerservicefail” quote=”Honesty is the best policy – choosing truth over payment.”]

G2 Review

G2 is more IT and HR oriented, so it’s conceivable that not everything you’ve got experience with will be something they need a review on, but it’s absolutely worth your time to check. Though you can only write 5 total reviews for G2, if they’re for under-reviewed software or something that is particularly important, they’ll pay you $10 for each one.

Like Capterra, G2 pays out in electronic gift cards to Amazon or Starbucks. It’s a nice way to get that coffee fix while you gear up for Black Friday shopping or sitting at home in your pajamas for Cyber Monday (which really depends on your personality, doesn’t it?)

The other benefit to G2 over Capterra is the turnaround on payout; G2 gets you your card in at most 48 hours. They process the reviews fairly but quickly and I love it!

Check out G2 and get to reviewing!

Out of curiosity, what’s your favorite software?

65 Ways to Make Money in Your Pajamas

65 Ways to Make Money in Your Pajamas

Making money online is easy…making a lot of money, though? Ehh…that gets a bit tricky. This is why you see so many entrepreneurs, such as myself, running multiple income streams. Personally, I have my e-courses on marketing, I offer 1:1 consultant work as a blog mentor, I sell digital products, and I obviously run a blog (this one!)

That said, back before a cat convinced me to quit my job to become a professional blogger, I was all about the “side hustle” – eager to supplement my income and pay down debt any way I could.

I’ve written about my favorite ways to make money online before, but here are 65 more options I’ve considered when it comes to making money from home. Some require more “leg work” than others, but all are potential income sources!

Note: Some of the links below are of course affiliate links but that in no way impacts my recommendation of the products/services.

Ideas on How to Make Money Online

Work as a Proofreader

Do you mentally correct the newspaper as you read it? Consider becoming an online proofreader.

Become a Virtual Assistant

Virtual assistants (VAs) do the same clerical work as their real-life counterparts, but their efforts are entirely online. Experienced VAs can pull in big bucks, so don’t be shy about tossing your resume in the ring, especially if you’re well-versed in social media marketing! VAs can make anywhere from $20-$50/hr. Join my Facebook Group to start making connections today!

Sell Your Old Media

Check out Amazon and see what your old DVDs, CDs, or even VHS might be going for!

Review Videos + Music

This is a fun one! Slice The Pie will pay you to review short videos and music; it’s a great way to earn some extra cash while on your computer.

Use Your Phone to Make Money

Some companies will pay you to test their apps. It’s not a bad way to make a little extra cash and I average about $5/month with SlideJoy – and I literally do nothing for it! Check out this post on other ways you can earn money using just your cellphone!

Data Entry

Telecommuting is the new normal in the world of data entry. Take advantage of this cultural shift and start working from home via FreelancerBONUS $20 when you sign up! The best part about Freelancer is that it’s not just data entry anymore, but opportunities to ghost write, assistant in real life, and so much more!

Earn with Survey Sites

There’s a lot of survey sites that aren’t worth your time (like Swagbucks!) but there are a few that genuinely pay out in a consistent manner. Check out how make your first $50 with InboxDollars or how I’ve made over $700 with SurveySavvy!

Social Media Managing

Create, edit, update, design and stimulate activity for the social media accounts of companies, corporations, or even online bloggers like me! Similar to being a VA, managing someone’s social media for them can pay anywhere from $20-$100/hr.

Consultant Work

Again this is one that I still do as a blogging mentor and digital marketing strategist. People are willing to pay for expert knowledge in a variety of fields. Best of all, these exchanges can be done entirely online, so you can even work in your pajamas if you’d like.

Make Money Using Your Computer

Testing Websites

Do the links work? Do the images load? Become a guinea pig for web developers and test websites via UserTesting. This one is great because you can do it both on your desktop or on your mobile!

Become a Copywriter

Freelance copying can pull in big bucks for the dedicated. All you need are writing skills and a willingness to seek your own opportunities (or you can work through a “middle-man” using a site like Textbroker!)

make money from home online

If you really excelled in school you help someone improve themselves by virtually tutoring them in your favorite subject. Find a great opportunity on sites like Tutor Hub or Wyzant!

Make Money with Rakuten

Not only does Rakuten (what used to be Ebates) save you tons of money (now on in-store purchases as well!!) but you can refer your friends to join and make money, too. I’ve earned back over $700, there’s literally NO reason not to use Rakuten when you shop!! And if you’re still hesitant, read my guide on how exactly Ebates works!

YouTube Videos

Do you have a bubbly personality? Do you love making up stories? Perhaps your children are great at playing pretend? There’s definitely money to be made on YouTube, provided you provide consistent and quality work.

Source Property

There’s great money to be found in property investments, but it’s hard to break into if you don’t yet have the cash to do so! If you can find properties selling at BMV (below market value), you can then recruit investors to help you buy the property for a percentage of the final sale after. This is a great book on how to get started flipping properties!

Making Money as a Creative

Design Websites

If you have a great eye for design and a decent grasp on website building, you could absolutely make a livable income by creating websites for other people! Personally I create my sites myself, but I’ve had clients pay upwards of $5,000 for someone to do their site for them – imagine the money you could make doing just one site every six weeks!

Design Landing Pages

This is similar to above, except far less time intensive. A landing page is what one uses to either A) sell a product/service or B) generate leads through e-mail sign-up. You can view an example of my landing page here: Blog Mentor Services

Work as a Graphic Designer

If you have an eye for design, consider becoming a web-based graphic designer. All you need to get started is Photoshop and you can start work through sites like Fiverr!

Create and Sell Video Series

If you have a talent to teach, create a short video series breaking down the different lessons and sell it online! Even if you put one together and only list it for $10, it can quickly add up and (depending on the niche) take little time to market on a regular basis.

Start a Blog

This is an obvious one, yeah? Domain names can be purchased for less than the price of a cup of coffee, so this is an investment that can be made quickly and painlessly for future gains. Blogging is what gave me MY freedom from my former career to then work from home full-time. Check out this article on how to make money blogging.

Your homemade scarves could turn a nice profit on a crafting site. If you can create it, there’s a market for it, so get online and start selling your wares via a site like Etsy! Even if you only make $100/month, that’s a good start, no?

This site requires you to download a browser extension, but that’s it! They then track what it is you search for via sites like Google or Amazon and you’re rewarded for it. Join QMee now for free!

Write an Ebook

Do you have a genius idea you want to share? Or maybe a unique take on a subject? Or perhaps you want to share a fiction novel you’ve been working on? Regardless of the topic, you can easily create your e-book using a free site like Canva and off you go!

Affiliate Marketing

If you have a website or a decent online presence, you can make money by recommending products and services you love! Start with a platform like Share-A-Sale and check out this post on how to get started with affiliate marketing.

Sell Your Photos for Cash

You don’t need to be a professional photographer. There’s money to be made by staging and selling “stock” photos for websites that collect and re-sell them. Check out Shutterstock to get started!

You can always sell things you no longer need and if you’re a parent, you can be constantly reselling the clothes your children outgrow. Check out my article on how to get kids clothes for free!

Customer Service

There are ample opportunities for call center representatives who want to work from home. These jobs are typically by phone or through virtual “live chats.” Thousands of opportunities are typically available on UpWork!

Win money for losing weight
Save AND Earn

As I said above, Rakuten is always a great option to save AND make money, but there are so many more, like:

Review Products and Services

Some companies will pay you to review their goods and services online. Many provide free products, but often times they’ll pay, too! One company I absolutely love is Blogging For Books, though they don’t pay, they do provide free books and hey, if you were going to spend money on ’em anyway…

This is another great way to earn cash on money you’re spending anyway; hook your grocery reward cards up and it’s a ZERO EFFORT money maker. Sign up for Ibotta and you’ll earn an automatic $5 bonus!!

Get Paid to Translate

You can find a lot of translation work on the web. Since it doesn’t require face-to-face interaction to get it done, it’s becoming a brisk online business. Check out sites like Gengo to get started!

Lend your tech support skills to companies who are looking for people to fix their websites, databases and cloud networks. It’s a job that can be done just as easily online as in the real world.

Focus Groups

Online focus groups will ask your opinion on everything from products to politics. If you’re willing to share them, you can make this a steady side gig. Sites like SurveySavvy often have great opportunities for this!

Software Reviewer

Do you use any sort of software on a regular basis? Of course you do! Mailchimp, WordPress, Adobe, and hundreds of more options for you to review! Check out sites like G2Crowd to get paid for your feedback.

On ClickWorker, businesses advertise services they need completed quickly – easy tasks you can complete from your couch! You’re able to choose which jobs you wish to complete and you’ll be paid via PayPal – sign up today!

Investment Ideas

You don’t need to physically travel to Wall Street to try your luck on the stock market. Email a financial adviser and get started with stocks, bonds, franchises and natural commodities whenever you’d like.

The world of self-publishing is growing by the day. If you have a story idea, put it online and see if you can become the next E.L. James.

Web Browsing

If you don’t mind new and experimental search engines, you can pull in some money by testing them for their developers instead of automatically directing your queries to Google.

Search Engine Testing

Speaking of Google, they’re willing to pay people to test their algorithms and judge their search engine results pages (SERPs) for accuracy and relevancy. Turn it into a full-job time for maximum cash.

Design and Sell Your Own T-Shirts

If you’ve got an eye for design or a flair for fashion, perhaps you could create and sell t-shirts via a site like Hanes Ink!

Do you have an ear for dialogue? Become a transcriber and lend your services to blogs, businesses and closed-captioning companies. Personally, I’ve paid for one myself a time or two when I wanted to convert video to text and I loved it – such a time saver! Check out Rev for transcription and closed-captioning work!

Teach an online course

Are you an expert in something? Do you enjoy sharing that knowledge with others? With sites like Udemy, you can easily set up your own course and make money (it’s how I made enough money to quit my 9-5!)

Do laundry

Did you know you can get paid to do someone else’s laundry? Check out Laundry Care for more info!

Coupon Collecting

Are you tired of the piles of flyers, circulars and coupons that wind up in your mailbox? Start gathering and selling them on Ebay for extra cash.

Yep, you read that right – tweet! You need to have a decent following, but yes, it’s totally possible to get paid to tweet.

Get Paid to Lose Weight

Check out this man’s story on how he lost 50lbs and was paid nearly $700 to do so!

Watching Television

While it won’t buy you a house in the Bahamas, there are certain sites, like Viggle, that will give you cash, prizes, and gift cards for watching and reviewing their TV programs.

Direct Sales

In the 21st century, Avon ladies are digital. Direct sales might be a good fit for you if you enjoy challenges and self-made opportunities. There are so many options, from Norwex to BeachBody to the aforementioned Avon!

More Ways to Earn Cash

Companies are always looking for the next big thing. Sell your ideas to others for a portion of the proceeds.

Your spare bedroom can be used as a landing pad for travelers all around the world. Advertise the space online; book people’s appointments online; open your doors in the real world.

Take a step up from selling your cookies on a personal blog. Become a caterer and arrange full-scale meals for parties, weddings, conferences and sports events.

Mystery Shopping

This is another job that will require you to leave your house, but since you’ll book these engagements entirely online, it’s still considered a virtual career. Check out Best Mark for some amazing opportunities (including ones you can do with just your phone!)

Odd Jobs

If you like creativity and spontaneity, consider becoming an “odd jobs” specialist who builds a reputation for completing any digital task no matter how small or unusual it is (err on second thought, maybe set SOME limits…maybe…) Did you know Craigslist even has an “odd jobs” category? Easy peasy to get yourself on there!

It’s not just for teens! If you’re planning to spend your Friday/Saturday night at home with the kids anyway, why not offer up your services to watch someone else’s kid, too, and get paid for it? BONUS: Maybe all of the kids will place nicely together and you can actually enjoy an evening watching something other than Octonauts. A gal can dream, right…?

Create, design, sell, manage and flip apps for interested parties. It only takes one great idea to become a sensation.

Web Designing

Do you have knowledge of programming languages like C++ and SQL? Use them to become an online web designer.

My Favorite Ways to Earn Money Online

Of the 50 listed above, my top earners (and favorite to use!) are most definitely:
ShareASale for affiliate marketing
Rakuten – you get an automatic $10 when you sign up!
Ibotta – $5/referral + a $10 bonus to those who sign-up; I average $50 earned back each month!
Discover Card – The only credit card I recommend – $50 bonus for anyone who signs up through the link plus double your cash back at the end of your first year!

Looking for ways to earn quick money this month? I’ve got you covered!

When I first launched this blog in November 2015, I didn’t think I’d become a professional blogger and therefore knew I couldn’t add any blog-related expenses into our budget, especially since I was only earning $2.67/hour after paying for daycare. So I decided to look into how I could earn some “extra” cash without sacrificing too much of my time – i.e. no survey sites that are a waste of time!

While I now earn my living as a blogging mentor, these five opportunities are a great way to help pad your budget or earn some bonus spending cash!

With cellphone cameras getting better and better, there’s no doubt you already have the tools necessary to take stock photos that you can then turn into cash. You don’t need to be a professional photographer to make money from this, simply check out Shutterstock to get started!

Spend & Earn

I remember one time when I was around eleven years old, I’d gone shopping at Kohl’s with my allowance money.

When my dad picked me up, I gleefully exclaimed “I save $57 today!!”

“Yeah, well you would have saved even more had you not spent anything,” he replied.

What a sourpuss, right??

It might seem obvious to say you can earn by spending, but so many people think it takes too much time, that the money they save won’t be worth the time they spend, but that’s SO far from the truth!

For example, if you’re not yet signed up for Rakuten (formerly known as Ebates), you really NEED to be. It’s quite literally free money, beyond the effort it takes to click the mouse a couple extra times. Oh not to mention, you get a bonus $10 for signing up!

Don’t shop online all that often? You can still use Rakuten and do in-store pick-up! It’s a great way to save time and money (plus you avoid impulse purchases!)

Another great way to spend and earn is by using a credit card with a quality cashback program. Personally, the only credit card I recommend is Discover Card. Sign up through my referral link and you’ll earn $50 PLUS double your cash back for the first year – potentially earning yourself hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars!

iBotta is also a seriously great way to make money, especially if you’re not quite as big an Aldi addict as I am. iBotta is a great way to earn cash back on purchases you make, such as groceries and alcohol. Just like with Ebates, it’s totally free to sign up and there’s no catch. Connect your cards with this app and you’ll have to do NOTHING extra to earn money back. I average around $50/month with this app!

Freelance Online

Freelancer is an amazing site through which you can easily work from home and find jobs suited to your skills and expertise. Whether you’re looking for data entry work, graphic design, virtual assistance, or other, Freelancer can help you find high paying jobs that you can do on your time. They’re also currently offering a $20 sign on bonus, so don’t wait – sign up today!

Drive for Uber

This one seems like a no-brainer, but I’ve found that a lot of people don’t realize just how much money you can make by driving with Uber, even if it’s just for a few hours during the weekend! In fact, did you know that they offer a GUARANTEE as to how much money you’ll make within a certain number of drives? This depends on your city, but it’s certainly worth looking into, as you could.

You know you’ve been meaning to declutter anyway, why not do it now and earn yourself some extra cash? Holding a successful garage sale isn’t as tricky as you might think! No time or desire to go through all that work? Check out your local Facebook re-sale groups! Clothes, furniture, art work, toys…all of these things taking up space in your home could be turned into cold hard cash!

Win money for losing weight

So while I can’t guarantee each of these ways will earn you $500+/month, they’re certainly tried-and-true opportunities to get you started.

And if you’re like I was a few years ago, hoping to work from home as a blogger or online business owner, be sure to check out the many opportunities I have to help you grow as an entrepreneur!
